LUTHERAN WOMEN IN MISSION

Meets September through May

LUTHERAN WOMEN IN MISSION

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is an official  auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.

MISSION FUNDING

Missions are funded by "mites." Based on the Biblical account of the widow's mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of "mites" — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.

Mite Boxes, available from the district, zone, or LWML office, are distributed to every woman in a society, and often to each member of the congregation. Local groups submit Mite Box offerings to the appointed district officer.

LWML Minnesota North District

The LWML Minnesota North District was organized in 1964, after separating the Minnesota District into two districts. As one of the 40 LWML districts in the LWML, the LWML MNN assists women of the MN North District to develop and maintain a great mission consciousness through Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, and Mission Service.

Our Mn North District has committed to $145,000 in missions for this biennium.

LWML @ ST. PAUL'S
